Key Ideans and Details:
The student must be able to:
cite specific evidence from the text.
identify the main idea of a text.
be able to draw conclusion based on text.
construct a summary based on what is given and not prior knowledge or opinions.
follow multistep procedures in an experiment and take measurements.
Craft and Structure:
The student must be able to:
determine the meaning of symbols, key terms, and scientific words.
analyze how and why the author chose to organize the text this way.
determine and examine the author's purpose for this scientific writing.
Integration of Knowledge and Ideas:
The student must be able to:
integrate scientific words/phrases with a visual such as a flowchart, diagram, model, graph, or table.
distinguish between fact and opinion of scientific text based on the text and not opinion.
compare/Contrast information from the text, experiments, simulations, videos, or multimedia sources.
Range of Reading and Level of Text Complexity :
The student must be able to:
